Blum — Financial Risk & Portfolio Platform

Designed a desktop-first platform from scratch to help financial institutions analyze portfolios, assess risk, and make faster, data-driven decisions.

Context

Blum is a B2B product for banks, fintechs, and insurance companies, operating in a highly specialized financial domain. The platform aimed to bring real-time data and risk analysis into a single tool—something not previously available in the region.

Problem

Users needed to interpret large volumes of complex financial data to diagnose portfolios and define risk strategies, often relying on fragmented tools and non-intuitive interfaces.

Role & Scope

Led the end-to-end design of the platform from 0, defining the UX strategy, information architecture, and interaction model for a complex, data-heavy product.

Key Decisions

  • Structured the experience around a desktop-first approach , aligned with users’ work context and data-intensive workflows
  • Translated complex financial data into clear, hierarchical views, enabling faster analysis and decision-making.
  • Designed flexible interfaces to support different types of financial entities and use cases.
  • Prioritized clarity over density, balancing depth of information with usability in a highly technical domain.

Outcome

Established the foundation for a scalable financial product, transforming complex risk data into a more accessible and actionable user experience.
