Mercado Pago — Logged-in Home & Navigation

Redesigned the main dashboard and navigation of Mercado Pago to improve access to key actions and simplify a complex financial experience at scale.

Context

Mercado Pago is one of the largest payment platforms in Latin America, used by millions of users to manage payments across multiple channels, including links, QR, and in-person transactions.

Problem

The existing dashboard concentrated a wide range of features and financial information, making it difficult for users to quickly access key actions and understand their account status.

Role & Scope

Led the design of the logged-in home and global navigation, focusing on improving usability, information hierarchy, and overall product clarity.

Key Decisions

  • Reorganized the dashboard around user priorities , surfacing the most frequent actions as quick-access shortcuts.
  • Simplified the information structure to improve scanability and reduce cognitive load.
  • Designed a more intuitive navigation system, enabling faster access to core sections of the product.
  • Adapted the experience based on different user profiles, ensuring relevance across various types of sellers.
  • Worked within the Mercado Libre design system (Andes) to ensure consistency and scalability.

Outcome
